National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall

Memorial hall still open amid an active transitional-justice debate; its honor-guard ceremony was relocated in 2024, and the premier was weighing a democratic-education-park conversion as of May 2026.

Longshan Temple
attractionWanhua, Taipei
Guanyin temple founded in 1738 by Fujianese settlers; its main hall was destroyed in a 1945 air raid and rebuilt, later a national monument since 2018. Still an active place of worship.

Dihua Street

Taipei's oldest street, with shops recorded from 1851; a Qing-to-Japanese-era shophouse row long traded tea, herbs and fabric, and 77 historic buildings were saved from demolition under a 1995 ruling.

Maokong Gondola

Elephant Mountain Trail

Huashan 1914 Creative Park

Former sake brewery and Taipei Alcohol Factory built from 1914, closed as a distillery in 1987; the disused site became an arts district from 1999 and reopened as a creative park in December 2007.
