Terms of Service

Third Platz is a community-edited directory of ranked lists. Content is contributed by users, including anonymous visitors, and is not independently verified by us before publication. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

You can contribute anonymously via a browser-based stub identity, or create an account with an email and password. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must not impersonate another person or entity.

You retain ownership of any content you contribute (list titles, descriptions, item blurbs, entity details, votes). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute it as part of the service — including via the public API, markdown twins, and any AI-readability surfaces described in About.

Because this is a wiki-style platform, content you submit can be edited, corrected, or reorganized by other users. You agree not to submit content you don't have the right to share, and to see the Content Policy for what's not allowed.

You agree not to misuse the service: no spam, no attempts to manipulate rankings through fraudulent votes or fake accounts, no scraping at a rate that degrades the service for others (use the API or markdown twins instead), and no attempts to bypass rate limits or security controls. The service and all content on it are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Community-contributed content — including starter content — is not fact-checked or professionally verified. Don't rely on it for decisions where accuracy is critical (e.g. an address, a business's current operating status) without independently confirming it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or from content posted by other users.

We may suspend or terminate access to the service, for any account or identity, at our discretion — most commonly for violating the Content Policy or these terms.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
